Hi, I am Franziska. I build data platforms — ten years of them, at Babbel, 8fit, and most recently as Head of Data Engineering at Blinkist and Go1, where I owned architecture, strategy, hiring and roadmap across B2C and B2B. What I keep coming back to, because I love it, is the building itself: staying close enough to the system to make implementation calls myself, shipping data features, defining metrics once so they are trusted everywhere. Right now I am most interested in where data engineering meets AI systems. ML was my M.Sc., data platforms have been my craft for the last ten years. Before computer science I studied sociology and researched how people adopt technology, which ultimately got me into this beautiful field.
